The Location

Ashwell Barn is a beautifully renovated barn on a private estate in the heart of the Cotswolds. The Barn is mostly surrounded by open farmland and gardens and is in an area of outstanding natural beauty a mile from the stunning cotswold villages of Chedworth and Calmsden. It was renovated in 2006 and boasts french oak beams throughout, flagstone floors and underfloor heating. Outside there is a private drive with parking area and a charming garden which boasts a number of rare trees as well as a seating area for the summer months. We have also installed super fast broadband providing an internet and wifi speed of up to 100Mbps.

 

We have lived at Ashwell for just over two years and live in the main house 75 yards away with our two young children so are there to answer any questions you may have but we want to make your stay as private as possible. We have four dogs, two ponies and two cats. 

 

 

 

 

Welcome to Ashwell Barn

Ashwell Barn is located on the outskirts of Chedworth and Calmsden in an area of outstanding natural beauty surrounded by beautiful farmland. 

 

There is a farm shop in the village and the Seven Tuns pub as well as the famous Chedworth Roman Villa. There are also stunning walks to be had throughout Chedworth.  Public transport is very limited.

 

Chedworth is a small Cotswold village only 6 miles from Cirencester and Bibury. There are some wonderful pubs locally and lots of beautiful villages.

 

There are some lovely towns locally including Cirencester, Cheltenham and Stow.  Cirencester, which is the closest, is wonderful for shopping and benefits from many pubs/restaurants and coffee shops. There are many interesting places to visit including The Cotswold Lakes where there is sailing, waterskiing, wake boarding, restaurants and bicycle trails.  The Corrinium Museum, Cirencester Polo Club and Beaufort Polo Club, The New Brewery Arts, Cirencester Abbey and the Cotswold Wildlife Park. 

 

The Accomodation

  • The barn sleeps 4.

  • The barn has an open plan sitting room with large oak table and chairs. The seating area has two sofas, a TV/DVD and bluetooth wireless portable speaker.

  • Super fast broadband with WIFI speeds of up to 100Mbps.

  • There are two bedrooms, the double bedroom mezzanine is accessible by the locally hand crafted bespoke oak staircase. (Please note that this is an 'open' mezzanine).  

  • Downstairs is a twin bedroom which can be made in to a double if required with views across the garden.

  • There is one bathroom with a bath and electric shower.

  • The kitchen is equipped with a cooker, hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine as well as the normal appliances such as a toaster and kettle.

  • White Company towels. 

  • The barn has its own private driveway and parking area and there is access to the garden.  In the summer months there is a patio area with seating under a pergola.

  • Guests have use of the garden.

  • Under 2’s free of charge.

  • Dogs – We accept 1 - 2 well behaved dogs free of charge - please note that there are 3 dogs who live in the main house with the owners.

  • The barn is self-catering. We will leave some provisions such as tea, coffee, dishwasher tablets, milk, croissants, cereals, butter and jams.

  • Strictly no smoking inside the barn
